The Mapping Project, also known as the Tourism Experience Touring Route Project, was a group assignment. It included myself, Tia Davison, Zoe Pereira, Taylor Scoular, and Kyleigh Stewart who are all in the Bachelor of Tourism Management at TRU. You can see the five points of the tour in the image above.

The objective of this assignment was to develop a tourism experience route for British Columbia. We decided to “work” for the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA). We presented information about the not-for-profit society. TOTA is “committed to creating a
strong and healthy tourism economy whilst minimizing the impact on our natural and cultural resources by promoting sustainable business practices and responsible travel”. We went over their purpose, mission, and vision. We then create a route rationale that corresponds to TOTA’s regional priorities. We worked on SWOT analysis in line with TOTA’s research and consultation about the region. We selected the target markets based on what their target markets are. We selected a name, then chose our points and attractions.
